Romantic Road vacations are most popular for travelers to Central Europe: Rail & Self-drive Tours along the Romantic Road – Germany’s best known scenic route!
Without a doubt, the Romantic Road is Germany’s most popular holiday route. It runs from Wurzburg, located just an hour and a half from Frankfurt International Airport, to Fussen, located in the Alp Mountains, less than two hours southwest of Munich.
Traveling along the Medieval towns like Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle and the scenic landscapes along the way towards the impressive Alp Mountains, the Romantic Road has to offer a variety of highlights and it is no surprise that the journey along the famous road, which used to be a trade route, is so popular. The English-speaking tour with the Night-Watchman in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the walk-able historic city walls in Dinkelsbuhl and Nordlingen, the “Wieskirche” in Steingaden add to the popularity of the Romantic Road. The Romantic Road can be experienced by rental car and by rail and so we designed a variety of Romantic Road vacation packages: they can be booked so you travel by Rail, by Rental car or even by a combination of transportation means. We have tours which focus on a journey along the Romantic Road, we have tours which include travels along the Romantic Road as part of a larger holiday package and we have tours which include some of the highlights of the Romantic Road (e.g. Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Neuschwanstein Castle) in a tour package which mainly focuses on other destinations. Our pre-packaged tours make it easy for you to travel along the Romantic Road independently. Travel your way along our self-guided tour itineraries!
